Visit Albuquerque Team Gets a Taste of Our Bread Baking Class
Share
When I first invited the team from Visit Albuquerque to come experience one of our bread baking classes in Albuquerque, I honestly didn’t know what to expect.
Like many small business owners, I’ve learned to rely on myself and keep expectations modest when it comes to outside support. After all, organizations like Visit Albuquerque are tasked with promoting the entire city and we’re just one small, wood-fired bread and coffee shop.
What happened that day left a lasting impression on me.
More Than Just a Visit
When the Visit Albuquerque team walked into our outdoor kitchen, I expected them to observe quietly, maybe snap a few photos, and leave. Instead, they rolled up their sleeves and got right into it.

They shaped dough, asked questions, laughed at sticky fingers, and genuinely connected with the group. It was clear they weren’t just here to feature us - they wanted to understand what makes our bread baking classes in Albuquerque special.
And then they went a step further: they filmed a beautiful video of their experience and shared it with their audience. That video has already brought new visitors and students through our doors and it continues to inspire others to join us.
Why Supporting Local Matters
That day reminded me why I started Sherwood Coffee ’n’ Bread in the first place and why what we do matters.
Every time someone books a class here, buys bread from a local baker, or even just shares their experience online, they’re helping keep a craft alive.

They’re supporting their neighbors.
They’re preserving the culture and flavor of Albuquerque.
And they’re making our community stronger.
Research shows that when you spend at a locally owned business, more of that money stays in the community, creating jobs, supporting other small suppliers, and giving the city its unique character.
Organizations like Visit Albuquerque don’t just talk about supporting locals. They actually show up and help tell our stories.
A Thank You And An Invitation
To the team at Visit Albuquerque - thank you for your curiosity, your energy, and for highlighting what we do here. You’ve helped more people discover the joy of baking, and you’ve shown that supporting local business is more than a tagline, it’s a choice that makes a real difference.

To our students, past and future — thank you for being part of this story. Every loaf you bake and every moment you share helps keep our little corner of Albuquerque alive with warmth and connection.
